Do you have time on your hands and the desire to help others?
If you are kind-hearted, understanding and enjoy being around people, volunteering could be the perfect fit for you.
Volunteers are the essence of every community.
At Woorayl Lodge, we see the difference our volunteers make to our aged care residents. We want everyone here to feel comfortable and at home, and our volunteers are a big part of this.
Meet new people, make new friends
It’s important for the residents to keep up a social life and engage with each other on different levels. We run a variety of daily activities that motivate the residents to leave their cosy rooms and join in the fun. Often, they are trying completely new things.
Volunteering with Woorayl Lodge could mean helping with morning and afternoon teas and taking the time to chat with residents. Sharing stories or simply listening to their memories is great for stimulating their minds.
Or you could get caught up in the activities – card games and quizzes, bingo and bowls, crafts and croquet. When the residents are active and everyone is enjoying themselves, it’s a good day at the Lodge.
You can help make a difference
Whatever your experience, hobbies, or skill set, we are sure to find a volunteering role that you will enjoy.
Signing up as an aged care volunteer at Woorayl Lodge isn’t daunting. We provide training and support to boost the range of tasks that will help you make a difference.

Personal Care Assistant
Choose a rewarding career path in aged care
You will make a meaningful difference
Aged care workers help some of the most vulnerable people feel comfortable, supported, nourished, and cared for. As an aged care worker, those in your care enjoy a higher quality of life because of you and the work you do. You will make a meaningful difference to ageing individuals with every shift you work at Woorayl Lodge … and long after you have gone home.
An industry that is evolving
With recommendations provided by the Royal Commission into Aged Care and the continuing growth of the sector, aged care is evolving and changing to better meet the needs of communities.
A workplace with variety
Aged care is not a one-size-fits-all approach, with professionals in the sector delivering a range of care types. You will be focusing on the residents in your care and their personal hygiene, dressing, eating habits, and wellbeing checks.
Range of shifts and hours
There is a range of job structures at Woorayl Lodge that provide shifts and hours to suit many different lifestyles and personal commitments. We can provide you with full time, part time or casual hours as well as night shifts or rotating rosters.
Excellent employment prospects
The sector has a growing demand for well-trained aged care workers, with more than 255,000 people currently employed in aged care. By 2050 it is expected that one million aged care workers will be needed to care for Australia’s ageing population. Becoming a qualified aged care worker gives you access to a fulfilling and successful career.
